I missed going to Viet Nam but I didn't miss getting my draft notice. Instead of letting them choose I enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1970 and after boot went to this ship, the USCGC MENDOTA (WHEC 69) in Wilmington, NC. She had just returned from VN and a couple of the crew were still onboard. I'd be interested in a History of the various services in addition to the wars.
