My vote? Roberto Clemente
Roamed the outfield like a gazelle / A glove like flypaper with a rocket arm / Spray hitter with speed AND pop in the bat / And to top it off....A kind person hoping to help the disenfranchised.
Complete package and the type of person we will never again see in a professional athlete.

Have to agree with Roberto, used to hitchhike 250 miles to see him play right field in Forbes Field. Willie Mays a close second for me. Did you read the Sept/Oct magazine about great world series plays? Said the Indians swept the 1954 series, when in reality it was the Giants sweeping the Indians.

Good call on Clemente ericsean and mdyblue; it would have been nice if there was more room in the World Series article in the Sept/Oct issue to at least get him listed on the All-Time Postseason Roster. And speaking of that story, a correction to the error in the '54 Series will be included in the Letters section of the mag in an upcoming issue. Nice catch.
