Sesquicentennial Tours

During 2010 the History Channel Club will host three sesquicentennial tours:

· The Coming Storm (April 29 – May 3, 2010) -  Stay on the historic Delta Queen on the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, TN for a symposium with Civil War scholars to discuss the pre-war events and politics of 1860.   Enjoy historian led tours of Chickamauga, Lookout Mountain, and Missionary Ridge, and special guests, Abraham Lincoln & Bobby Horton.

· Two Soldiers and the Gathering Storm (June 18-24, 2010) - Become reacquainted with West Point classmates and ultimate foes George McClellan and Thomas “Stonewall”Jackson.  Begin in Washington, DC continuing to West VA with visits to Harper’s Ferry, Antietam, Jackson’s boyhood home, and Rich Mountain.

· Confederacy Gains Its Foothold (Oct. 17 – 24, 2009) - We begin in Montgomery, AL the first capital of the Confederacy and 100 years later a focus of the Civil Rights Movement.  Continue to Selma, Mobile Bay, Beauvoir, home of Jefferson Davis, and end in New Orleans. Special highlight – meet “history makers” who walked with Dr. King in 1965!

Each tour is led by a Civil War scholar with special guests and events focusing on the theme.  History Channel Club members will receive an early booking discount and a signed book pertaining to each tour.  For detailed information please contact Charlene Corris at Custom Travel Concepts, P.
